Face-a-Book Challenge

It is a Reading Program for the Students, Teachers and Staff   initiated by Library & Resource Center of the Vidyalaya. Interested Students and Teachers  are invited to join the programme. 

Objective of  the Program :

1. To aware the readers about the importance of reading. 

2. To inculcate reading habit among the students.

3. To encourage critical thinking, innovation and creativity .

4. To develop information literacy skills. 

5. To develop the abilities to use social media effectively.

6. To enhance basic research skills.

7. To improve self-confidence and presentation skills.

8. To develop critical reading skills like comprehension, speed, note taking and referencing.

9. To attract the students and teachers towards the library.

10. To make the students lifelong readers and learners. Maximum utilization of Library Recourse.

Details of Program :

1.Each and every reader has to choose a book from the library.

2. Each Face-a-Book Challenger will be given with a (Face-a-Book) Book which will be selected from the Library based on its content and the age of the participants.

2. After selection of interested book  21 days will be given to the readers for reading the book.

3. In the next phase he/she has to prepare a scrap book titled as "Yes, I Accepted" folwed by the Book Title  to the library. 

4. Readers can also submit the same to library via  following e email ID - nkpagra@gmail.com

5. The Face-a-Book Challengers have to prepare and present an item (skit, reviews, role plays, quiz, song, etc.) based on the book in the School Assembly.

Evaluation:

All activities under this project will be evaluated and monitored  by a group of teachers. The main grading indices will be,

 a) Book review (to assess the level of critical thinking, writing skills and comprehension);

 b) Scrap book (to assess information literacy skills, imagination, creativity, innovation, note taking and referencing);

 c) Assembly programme (to assess presentation skills, confidence and organizational abilities);

 d) Book Talk (One minute video on the Book) to assess creativity, presentation skills, speaking skills, etc.).

Awards and Recognition :

After successful completion of the Face – a – Book Challenge , readers will be awarded in the morning assembly along with  certificate and prize.
